POEMS OF HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS
Have you ever had a time in your life when you didn't have the strength to go on? Was living day-to-day or even minute-to-minute too much to ask? I've been there. To the world, I had it made. I had 2 teenage children, a home, a car, and a job. People cared about me. The only thing was I felt betrayed by God because he allowed me to be brutally date-raped and, a week later, I lost my job due to budget cuts. As a divorced woman of 2 with no income, I felt lost and alone. On the outside, I was happy, but every day, I died a little more inside. After the rape, I bought a small handgun to protect my family, but in my depressed state, one night, I sat with the gun under my chin, telling God I wanted to die. I prayed, but instead of death, he let me fall asleep.
When I woke up, I thought of my precious children and how selfish it would be for me to end my pain only to cause them so much more. I tell you this because as hard as it was to keep going, I would go through hopeless feelings and heartache again to be where I am now. I have hope! I know now God does love me. I know this life is unfair and that good people suffer as you do now. I know that Satan is fighting for your soul as he did mine. Never Surrender! You are needed in this world even though you don't feel it right now. Take a step at a time, and don't look ahead or back. Live this hour or even minute... then the next... and the next... and so on.
You hold on and don't let Satan win. The world is cruel and unfair, but you can trust a God who loves you unconditionally. You are not hopeless. Let Him give you the strength to endure each day while you focus on him and the things above. Watch for the signs he will send to show you he is there. As devastating as my life was then, it was God who showed me how to look through the pain and see Jesus cheering for my victory. Let him hold you now and give you his peace. I hope these Christian uplifting poems will give you hope only God can give you. Read other encouragement poems and strength poems on the Heaven's Roll Call website to help encourage you another day. "I say to the Lord, You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God and I trust you. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you can hide. His truth will be your shield and protection. You will not fear any danger by night or an arrow during the day. You will not be afraid of disease that comes in the dark or sickness that strikes at noon." Psalm 91:1-6

God is faithful. I know because he showed me his love by letting me live that day. Please hold on. Don't give up. You are not alone. God and I care. I was taught those who commit suicide go to hell. I do not know if that is true, but I know things do get better. It takes time, sometimes lots of time, but they will get better one day. No one can take away the hurts you are feeling now or erase the things that may have been done to you, but you can survive with God's help. He will help you to be strong, so tell Satan to go to hell! Eventually, you will learn how to center on the promises of God and not on the pain. Please reach out to me and let me be a shoulder you can lean on. I only want to help and ask nothing in return. Remember, I've been there.
"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord." Psalm 27:14

overcome the world." John 16:33
